The Institute of Islamic Studies (IIS) is hiring for two positions: Business Officer & Administrative, Outreach and Communications Assistant to the Director.
Given the expanding scope and operations, the IIS is bringing on more staff to enhance and support its various projects and work.

Reporting to the Institute’s Director, the Business Officer is responsible for overseeing the Institute’s business and financial administration, including budgeting and payroll management of operational, restricted and trust accounts, and endowment annual income disbursements, as well as research grant accounts held in multiple units across the University. The position will also be responsible for purchasing and procurement activities, research grant administration as well as administering IIS facilities and equipment and personnel access and usage of facilities.

Administrative, Outreach and Communications Assistant to the Director
Reporting to the Director, the Communications, Events and Administrative Assistant to the Director is responsible for assisting with frontline and administrative tasks of the Institute, as well as coordinating communication and event needs. The communications responsibilities include maintaining and updating the department website and social media platforms, as well as writing, gathering and editing content for the departmental newsletter and other publications.
